We offer high quality training in technical diving and cave diving in Playa del Carmen, all the Riviera Maya and in Yucatan, Mexico.
We strive to provide the best learning experience. The objective is to achieve the highest level and learn from each moment. Then by using what you learn you will improve your performance and the safety of your diving.
There is a minimum days required by standards for technical and cave diving training, but be aware that you will personnaly need to meet the diving standards.
All training is based on skills mastering. We do our best to share our experience and knowledge with you and ensure the efficiency of your training but technical or cave diving certification is not garanteed.
Guided Dives on the second largest reef in the world – Experience the thrill of diving with bull sharks – Day trips to cozumel from Playa del Carmen – Express trips to Cozumel. We also offer technical ocean diving
Unique in the world: discover cavern diving in the Cenotes – Dive Cenotes near Tulum and near Playa del Carmen – Cenotes in Puerto Morelos for Advanced divers – Special private and personnalized trips to the Cenotes of Yucatan
Cenote Minotauro is an easy place to reach. You arrive on a parking lot with tables (at the right height)! And new bathrooms 🙂
The access to cenote Minotauro is through a nice stairway and you can just walk into the water.
I have dove a lot in this system in Backmount configuration, however, it is really nice for side mounting and gives access to many more passages. In Side Mount configuration it is much more enjoyable and probably more precise and easier to avoid damage on the cave. This system goes up and down, reaches the halocline but remains fairly shallow and is a great place for long dives.
The system itself and the dive circuits can seem a bit confusing as you start knowing the system but it is all really pretty. There is a great map of Minotauro by Alessandro Reato, that really gives all its sense to following Ariadne’s line as this place is really a labyrinth.
You will see here a few images of a fun dive with a friend, local instructor. This video has no teaching purpose whatsoever. No pretension, just two local instructors and experienced cave divers enjoying their time cave diving, filming, editing and sharing their passion.
When this dive was finished, as the current had pushed us quite fast towards the exit we still had plenty of air to recalculate thirds and have a short dive on the other side, downstream so beautiful again. But guess what, the camera’s battery was dead!! I guess we’ll have to go again.
The decompression procedures course is an exciting step further into your dive career.
You can train in your properly configured recreational gear with just an extra stage for the deco gas. You will only need and extra regulator and stage rig and you can still join regular dive operation which is a great advantage.
If you already are an Intro to tech or Sidemount diver you can use this configuration with an extra deco tank.
You will get the best out of this training if you already are an Advanced Nitrox diver or if you combine Decompression Procedures and Advanced Nitrox.
These courses will be the foundation of all other technical courses.
The use of oxygen and oxygen enriched air mixture is critical to advenced applications in diving. This course will arm you with the knowledge and understanding of the risks and benefits associated with these gases.
You have been enjoying your recreational diving and you are ready to go a step further. Then the Advanced Nitrox course is a great introduction into the world of Technical Diving. During your course you will complete dives to 130ft/40m in the safest manner possible with no stage decompression and using Nitrox up to 100% oxygen. You will tune up your buoyancy control in a new configuration and of course work on stress mangament and problem solving. And also very important in technical diving you will start planning your dives.
This course combines perfectly with the Decompression Procedures course. This will be the foundation of your technical diving career and of course give you a better understanding of technical diving.
It is just the beginning of the progression into more advanced applications in diving.
Extend your dive time safely!
Ideal for scientific divers, photographers or divers simply wishing to stay underwater longer
Use mixture containing up to 100% oxygen.
Entry level tec course
No need for big configuration changes: only one extra tank
Two direct applications
Hyperoxic mixes significantly increase bottom time at moderate depth
Mixes of high Oxygen considerably accelerate decompression
The Nitrox Course is an entry level to start utilizing enriched air nitrox as a breathing gas.
Scuba diving nitrox gives you more no decompression time, meaning more time underwater especially on repetitive dives.
This simple one-day course can be done in a matter of hours, and it is in fact “dry course”. You can technically complete the course without going underwater even though, you probably don’t want to miss the fun part?!
Double benefit : More time underwater, where you like and shorter surface intervals !
Objectives of the Nitrox course?
Learn more about nitrox mixtures
Extend your bottom time
Less surface interval
Do repetitive dives
Move forward with technical diving education
Minimum age 18, 15 with parental consent
Minimum certification of open water diver or current enrollment in an open water diver course
What you will learn:
Techniques for getting more dive time by using enriched air nitrox
The benefits, hazards, and proper procedures for using nitrox mixes from 22 through 40 percent oxygen content
Enriched air considerations, including managing oxygen exposure
Enriched air scuba diving equipment considerations, cylinder labeling, analyzing nitrox mixtures, and gas blending procedures
Manage oxygen exposure.
Analyzing oxygen content in your scuba tank.
Set your dive computer for diving with enriched air nitrox.
Structure of the Nitrox Diver Course:
There are two options for this Course: Option one: Standard Course Option two: Course with 2 Cenotes Nitrox dives
What gear will you use?
Your Instructor will help choose and let you know if your gear meets the requirements.
Regular modern scuba equipment
Scuba tanks must meet oxygen service standards and be dedicated for use with enriched air.
Special cylinder decals.
Now that you earned your certification and will extend your dive time, you might consider moving to the next level
Warm, calm, and absolutely amazing clear water with exotic sea life, divers of all levels and from all over the world will love to explore the many fantastic undersea environments this region of the globe has to offer.
You will get the opportunity to dive on one of the largest coral barrier reef in the world and every dive site will bring its lot of surprises.
Bull Shark diving
In winter pregnant female bull sharks come to the shallow waters along the coast in front of Playa del Carmen. Will you dare dive with them?
This is an amazing dive where you just go down to ~25m/75ft on a sand patch and just enjoy the amazing show of many bull sharks peacefully and gracefully swimming around you.
Ocean diving in Cozumel on a Day trip from Playa del Carmen
The fast boat takes you directly to Cozumel in approximately 40 minutes, straight to the dive site. The first dive in Cozumel is tipically a deep dive on a wall with a maximum dive depth of around 70-80 feet/20-24 meters. The second dive is on a shallower reef at around 40-50 feet/12-15 meters.
