Advanced Nitrox: a stepping stone to more excellent diving! One step closer to CCR diving
The use of oxygen and oxygen-enriched air mixture is critical to advanced applications in diving. The Advanced Nitrox course will arm you with the knowledge and understanding of the risks and benefits associated with these gases.
You have been enjoying your recreational diving, and you are ready to go a step further. Then, the TDI Advanced Nitrox course is an excellent introduction to the world of Technical Diving. During your education, you will complete deep dives to 130ft/40m in the safest manner possible with no stage decompression and using Nitrox up to 100% oxygen. You will tune up your buoyancy control in a new configuration and work on stress management and problem-solving. And also very important in technical diving, you will start planning your dives.
This TDI Advanced Nitrox course combines perfectly with the Decompression Procedures course and will be the foundation of your technical diving career and, of course, give you a better understanding of technical diving.
It is just the beginning of the progression into more advanced applications in diving.
Objectives of the Advanced Nitrox Training
- Extend your dive time safely!
- Ideal for scientific divers, photographers, or divers simply wishing to stay underwater longer.
- Use a mixture containing up to 100% oxygen.
- Entry-level tech course
- No need for big configuration changes: only one extra tank
Some direct applications of Advanced Nitrox Skills
- Hyperoxic mixes significantly increase bottom time at moderate depth.
- Mixes of high Oxygen considerably accelerate decompression.
- Advanced Nitrox training is a Prerequisite to Rebreather diving.
Prerequisites to the Advanced Nitrox Course
- Minimum age 18, 15 with parental consent
- Minimum certification: Nitrox Diver or equivalent
- 25 logged dives
How long does it take to become an Advanced Nitrox Diver?
- 3 days
- Number of Dives: 4 minimum (>100′ bottom time)
- Theory: 6 hours minimum
Limitations for the Advanced Nitrox Diver
- Maximum depth of 40 meters/130 feet
- No decompression
- Nitrox mixes up to 100% Oxygen
What you will learn during the Advanced Nitrox Training
- Physics and physiology relating to diving with gas mixes containing more than 40% oxygen
- Gas planning, dive tables, dive computers, oxygen, and nitrogen limitations
- Equipment considerations, cylinder labeling, analyzing nitrox mixtures, gas blending procedures, and oxygen service ratings for using gases with more than 40% oxygen
Skills you will perform to become an Advanced Nitrox Diver
- Polishing of buoyancy and swimming techniques
- Good awareness and team-oriented dive practices
- Free-flowing regulator, valves shut down, and regulator switch
- Safety stops in neutral buoyancy
- Share gas with a buddy
- Position, trim, streamline
- Stress analysis of personal and other team members

INTRO TO TEC & SIDE MOUNT DIVING TRAINING
Basics for tech diving in Backmount configuration: dive planning, water skills, gear configuration, streamlining, buoyancy, and propulsion techniques
It is time to get familiar with the side mount for Tec divers wanting to learn the configuration or recreational divers taking their first steps into the Tec or cave diving world
The Razor Side Mount course covers the basics of tech and cave diving more thoroughly than basic courses. Then, you can focus on the core of subsequent training in your Razor.
CAVE DIVING TRAINING
The first step in the Overhead environment. Learn all safety protocols within the daylight zone.
Dive into the dark caves. Learn how to do simple cave dives beyond the daylight zone.
Caves can be complex, especially in Mexico; you will combine previously learned skills with complex navigation.
SIDE MOUNT CAVE DIVING TRAINING
Cave diver training in your Razor Side Mount System
For Cave divers who wish to practice Safety Protocols in Side Mount
ADVANCED CAVE DIVING TRAINING
For certified cave divers looking to extend their dive time or penetration distance and safety in the cave.
For certified and experienced cave divers who want to learn how to safely use a Diver Propulsion Vehicle (DPV) or scooter in an overhead environment.
TECHNICAL DIVING TRAINING
The first approach to technical diving and the use of mixed gases. And for those already Nitrox certified divers, it is the opportunity to thoroughly review the basic principles and fundamental laws of physics used in diving.
You will learn the physics and physiology of diving with gas mixtures containing more than 40 % oxygen. This is the opportunity to further extend your dive time without going into decompression limits.
Prerequisite to CCR rebreather diving.
In this course, you will learn to plan and execute dives with decompression, choose your gas, and develop emergency plans.
DEEPER DIVING TRAINING
Exciting dives down to 55m/180ft, but helium is nowhere available? You will learn to do these dives using air and deco gases safely.
Dive deeper, explore further. Enroll in our Trimix Diving Course and unlock the wonders of the deep, dark depths. Discover a new world of underwater exploration. Dive to a maximum depth of 60 metres/200 feet with a blend of helium.
